Well it is time to get out all those rod, reels, tackle and lure bags and shake off the cobwebs. We have had some nice weather as of late and some anglers are out there catching. What are they hookin up? Well I had a bunch of nice black weighted in. Dave T of Westerly, RI weighed in a 9.88 tautog and Sean from Vernon CT had three that weighed over 5 and half pounds. They were in about 40 ft of water using crab.(If I can remember how to insert my pictures I will get them on here.) Where? Well I cannot tell you. As most of you know fluke opened May 1 with a 19.5" and 6 fish limit. This should help out with catching keepers this season. And yes we have Mummiechugs and local spearing.
We are starting up our in house contest this month. The Mad Fisherman's Contest in honor of my brother Tim, is a contest open to our customers who spend $20 or more in the store. The winner recieves a $25 gift certificate to the store. You must be signed up and weighed in here at Quonny.
We will have fresh local lobsters again on the weekends mid June on. If you would like to place an order ahead just call the store any time during the week. They go quickly.
Afterhours, Point Jude, ThomCat fluke Rigs, Anco, Silent George Silent Sand Eel Plugs, and Plugman's eggs are all in. So come on down.

I know this update is a little late. Fishing has been so so. We have a new winner for the Mad Fisherman's Contest. This months winner is John H from CT, but who spends time in Weekapaug with his family. John actully had two fish out of Weekapaug, a 24.12 and the winner weighed in at 31.46. Both were caught on fresh bunker supplied here at Quonny Bait and Tackle. Congrats John, you will receive a $25 gift certificate to the shop.
We have had some great fish this month. Ron from Webster had a 44.4 pounder out of Weekapaug, Mark from CT had a great month at Quonny using yellow Anco darters paired up with teasers. Rhonda and Conrad also had good hook ups this month.
October is your last chance to win the Mad Fisherman's Contest. We have a new supply of After Hours, Pt. Jude Lures, Super Strike, Anco and Gibbs. We will be open until around the 20th of November. So come on down, there is plenty of fishing left and we know November possibilities.
We want to express our great sadness to the Clemmens and Clark family on the passing of Chris Clark from Hopkinton. We loved Chris from the first time he walked into our shop with his buckets of change saved up from his part time job. Chris will be greatly missed by our family.
That's all for now,
So get those knees a knocking and shout out "FISH ON!!!!!"
